Preparing
In some parts of the country, fellow anglers are getting cabin fever from not being on the water. Every time a fishing show is on television it drives them a little bit further up the wall. This can be a frustrating time. You can make it a time of preparation to help ensure that your upcoming fishing trips and tournaments are successful.
Now is a great time to upgrade your gear. If you're honest with yourself, you will admit that it's time to retire some of those rods that you've been gluing and duct taping together. Go ahead and treat yourself to some Big Bear Fishing Rods. One of the nicest things about Big Bear rods is the grip. The rod will not slip from your hands in rain, snow, sleet, or sweaty palms. That spinning reel that you've been using that is constantly getting line twists needs to be replaced also. The best new reel I've used is the Wave Spin. These reels are not only the most visually stunning reels on the market, but they will not get line twist. Yes I said it. No line twist. Speaking of line, you know that line that's been on that reel since the spring...of 1993? It's time to change it! The only line I spool up with is McCoy Fishing Line. McCoy brand is strong and can pull in the hawgs!
Now that your rods, reels, and lines are ready to go, you need to do some soul searching on your lures. Some older lures are still very effective but you know that you have some lures that you like more than the bass. You know the ones I'm talking about. You don't? Well let me help you. What about that lure you bought because it was the same color as your wife's eyes? How about the 327 lures you bought for $3.99 at the Swamp Hollow Flea Market? You didn't forget the lure you bought that reminded you of your first car did you? Oh and don't forget that lucky lure that you caught that 18 pound lunker with in the middle of winter in 1984 that only you saw. Come on! Go to Team Supreme Tackle, Reaction Strike, Mitchell's Eels, and Secret Lures to get some of the most effective lures in the water.
Get ready for what you've longed for so that when you hook that good one your gear won't let you down.
