Work Where God Places You
Work Where God Places You

While competing in a bass tournament out on Lake Murray, I started having problems with my cranking battery. It really became a problem after catching fish and running my livewell's recirculator. Right before the last 2 hours of the tournament my cranking battery gave up the ghost. I was about 3 miles away from the weigh in site. So instead of calling the director to ask for assistance in getting back to the ramp, I let down the trolling motor and started "working where God had put me." I ran my trolling motor all the way back to Schull Island. On the way there I caught a nice keeper that helped boost my final weight up enough to finish in 8th place. If I would have had a functioning cranking battery I would not have caught that fish because I would not have been fishing in that area.
Sometimes we get put in locations, situations, or conditions that "we" don't like. We complain, cry, fuss, cuss, and try to buck the system instead of working where God has put us. I say "we" and "us" because I still do it too. God has work for us to do everywhere we are and everywhere go. It's up to us to quit our pity party and temper tantrum and go about His business.

Oh, as a side note, my battery drained because I was running my recirculator consistantly trying to keep this 6.49 pound baby alive! I won the big fish pot. God is good y'all!
