Life and Death

Take a minute and think. Think about the people you went to church with last year. Think about how many people in that church died last year. Some due to illness. Some due to accidents. Some due to natural causes. If you don’t attend a large church or don’t attend church at all, think about the people you know that had friends or family members die last year. Now watch the news. People are dying in accidents, being murdered, illnesses, and various other ways.

Many of these people began their morning or ended their nights with plans to do this and that but didn’t plan on dying. That guy going to the game, the lady on her way to the concert, the kids on their way to school never planned on dying that day or night. But they died.

We hate to talk about dying and definitely hate thinking about it but it’s a part of life. A preacher once said that "Once we are born, we begin to die." Makes you think, huh? I heard another preacher say that "We are all sick enough to die right now." We all want to go to heaven but we dread dying. Let’s strive to get our lives right with God and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Now is the time because during the time it took you to read this some people have died.
