True love has no limits. No boundaries. No excuses. No exceptions. I put that to the test 3 weeks ago. My wife is currently deployed in a country I will leave unnamed on military duty. She had been gone since the spring and her birthday was fast approaching. I wanted to surprise her with a dozen roses for her birthday. I called the flower services that advertise on television and radio. They all told me that they could not help me. I checked online and found a company that could deliver a dozen roses for $125 but not on the military base. I was stumped. I was disappointed but I would not be denied.
That's when my memory kicked in. When I was in Germany I won a ticket to a World Football League game between the Frankfurt Galaxy and (ironically since I'm from NC) the Raliegh-Durham Skyhawks. I won the ticket at the USO! Immediately I went to the USO's website and emailed them what I was trying to do. They replied the next day with the contact person's phone number and email address. I called and spoke with Regina. As we were chatting, we both discovered that we were both police officers at the same time, in jurisdictions 20 miles apart back in the early 1990s. She asked me what I wanted to do for my wife and I told her that I wanted a dozen roses delivered to her on or before her birthday since it was on a Sunday. Regina told me that she would take care of everything and would add a cake. She told me that she would deliver it personally on her birthday.
After she delivered the items both of them (my wife and Regina) started crying. My wife was very surprised and extremely moved. My wife later told me that a number of people in her unit wondered how I had pulled it off. I told her to tell them that love will make you do amazing things.

When you love someone you want to do things above and beyond the call of duty. Just as James Ingram sang "Find 100 Ways" to show your loved ones that you love them. In fact, go do something within the next few days that you've never done before to show them you love them.
